To Kempton yesterday evening after a fine London lunch with great friends. LILLY LUX running fine, but looking a little one paced in the closing stages. Her sire, Free Port Lux, is primarily a National Hunt stallion, and that is the way we will now go with Lilly. A mares maiden hurdle in a few weeks, and dual purpose options thereafter….

And this time in a month, it will be half time oranges at Cheltenham. The Champion Hurdle (will he or won’t he Nicky) and The Champion Chase will be done and dusted. I suspect that the former still has a contender or two to emerge from left field…
