Robins Farm is a state of the art racehorse training facility, Robins Farm boasts immaculate gallops amidst stunning scenery. Horse Heaven!!

Eleven years after taking out a licence to train, the move to Sussex is a closing of the circle for George, who was brought up in the area. After renting two of the most famous yards in the land at Whitsbury and then Manton, George and Candida purchased Robins Farm in May 2017.

Colin Weedon, Peter Winkworth and Olly Stevens have all trained with great success from the property, with winners at the highest level and around the globe.

George has trained over 400 winners, including a Royal Ascot winner with Belgian Bill. There have been several pattern successes both here and abroad, and GB Racing horse boxes are often seen on continental motorways. “Have horse, will travel” is very much a mantra for the team. And has been rewarded with winners in Dubai, Turkey, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and on the Channel Islands. And runners have performed with credit in the USA, Scandinavia and Spain.

George and Candida adopt an “open house” policy. So please give us a call, come and see what we are doing, and join in with our success.

  • "The unique part of George Baker Racing is the team. Obviously there is the figurehead George, ably supported by his lovely wife Candida. Then on the racehorse side there are Pat and Val, who know so much about horses: breaking horses, riding horses, choosing horses and then beyond them the team who once you have your horse you know will look after it and do their level best to get you a winner."

    Nick Clark, Owner
  • "I have had a few horses with George Baker Racing and can thoroughly recommend the adventure. The team are professional, friendly and ensure every part of the experience is fun and rewarding.'

Every now and then, a chance meeting-up and a casual conversation leads to the formation of a dynamic and exciting partnership. Coolhurst Vineyards’ sponsorship of George Baker Racing is just such a union.

The new alliance is heavy with synergy. Here are two West Sussex family ventures which started at almost exactly the same time by two old mates from the same year at their school whose parents had been lifelong friends. Both youthful businesses are forging their respective paths striving for excellence, acclaim and success.

Coolhurst has become one of the most talked about boutique heritage brand vineyards in England. The Lady Elizabeth Vintage Sparkling Rosé has been lauded as the best in the UK and the Cotes de Provence Rosé has enjoyed huge plaudits and ovations rapidly growing in demand all the while retaining a degree of exclusivity. Many remarkably similar characteristics would be applied to GBR.

We, absolutely, share a desire to be the best at what we do, have enormous fun doing it and to celebrate the appreciation of our clients; with our clients.

Here’s to the future of this affiliation; celebrating GBR’s success with Coolhurst Vineyards wines.
