Out of the Gulf…
Well, certainly from an equine perspective…
News of a flight home out of Dammam in Saudi Arabia on 7th April. A short journey across the Causeway from The Kingdom. Here’s hoping…
In the meantime, Benoit and Franky are being wonderfully supportive in riding out every morning. Although the training track is waterlogged this morning. Weather…??!!
Other issues include quarantine procedures ahead of travel and the ever decreasing amount of horse feed that is available. All is good right now – but we certainly hope that April 7th is the end game date. Massive credit to those who have taken on the responsibility of caring for all international horses, and special mention of Phillippa Main who is in charge of the Quarantine Barns and all associated protocols…
A tough gig at the best of times – but unbelievably taxing when set against a war zone, and the daily thud of rockets and the wails of multiple sirens. We will be buying Phillippa a very large present when all are home safe and all is well…
On the domestic front, we continue the build up to the flat season which has crashed over the horizon and which is about to hit us full bore. Busy is good…
LILLY LUX running another fine race on Saturday evening at Southwell to finish a close up second. She deserves to get her head in front after several brave and consistent (The Racing Post deem her “inconsistent” – but who reads that anymore anyway…??) efforts. We will mix and match between both codes…
No runners this week…
Quiet. Before storms…
