Did BHA Chairmen….?!
It appears that they do….
“Former Brewery Boss Simon Cox is set to be announced as BHA Chairman…”
“Announced” by plenty of media outlets – but not officially by the BHA as yet. Unless I have missed it, which is entirely possible. Much more possible than the BHA being slow out of the traps…?!
Good luck Simon !! An Owner and a Breeder and a racing fan. Here’s hoping that this is an inspirational appointment, and that Simon is the man to drag the vested and the self-serving around that table to pull together for the greater good…
We will learn more about why the appointed Committee deemed Simon to be the man for the “poisoned chalice” when the BHA formal announcement comes out. Probably the week before Cheltenham….??!!
I’m being facetious and fatuous which is not clever…
Finally, we have white smoke billowing out of BHA Towers, and as a sport and an industry we look forward to hearing from Simon in the days ahead…
And I fervently hope that he will be dedicating his week to the role, and not involved on a piecemeal “two day a week” basis whilst juggling several other positions across other industries…
Wolverhampton last night. The 9.00pm race. Racing at that hour because it is what punters and betting shop staff and stable staff and jockeys and trainers are yearning for…..??!!
Horseboxes will have been pulling back into stable yards in the very wee small hours up and down the land. And lads and lasses will have had their alarm bells ringing almost as soon as heads hit pillows…
MASSIMO BLUE (Jack Callan) caught a little wider than ideal which probably made the difference between 2nd and 3rd place. A winner in first time blinkers that did not look an obvious one before the race. We bumped into one…
Lingfield this evening. DON PABLO COLINA (Oisin Murphy). A good 3rd at Epsom recently. A four runner “trappy” contest tonight with all of the runners holding claims…
Another King George. Another superstar. As with Shergar, I was there…
Home of The Brave…
Extended coverage. Voices from my youth…
