In the East, a beautiful sunrise…

Far away. In the East. Troubled skies. NESTHORN, DESERT COP, MAX MAYHEM and GORDON GREY remain in Bahrain. Beautifully looked after by the wonderful grooms attached to our Quarantine Barn, but we would love to have them home and safe…

Goalposts moving all the time with respect to prospective flight options. An evolving situation as desert sands shift by the hour. Rather remarkably, they raced last Friday night despite the ongoing wail of sirens and pinging alerts across mobile networks…

Still plenty of alarming “incoming”, and the evacuation of people clearly, and rightly, the priority…

Hoping for good news soon and “wheels up” on a horse transporter plane…

We headed West yesterday. To celebrate the marriage of our great friend Paul Bowden (Lucander, Wargrave and many more…) to Tricia at Chepstow Racecourse…

Paul and Tricia had sponsored the whole card which included the “www.georgebakerracing.com Have Horse Will Travel Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.” Several in attendance were a little surprised to see us “sponsoring” a Mares’ Hurdle in Chepstow on the Sunday after Cheltenham…?!

A very happy day, and wonderfully generous hosts in Paul and Tricia…

Some weekend of sport…

A superb 6 Nations culminating in a magnificent match in Paris. England falling just short. But it might have been very different if Ollie Chessum had touched down behind the posts for England’s last try. Instead, he showboated his way over the try line, making the subsequent missed conversion kick significantly harder than it needed to be. Considered thought in the heat of battle would have turned the fine margins in England’s favour…

Youth to the fore on the football pitch and on the racetrack. Max Dowman became the youngest ever Premier League scorer as Arsenal somehow secured another win despite playing like terrified school kids. And in China, Kimi Antonelli driving a car pretty quickly for a 19-year-old…

Even QPR won…

My “live sport fix” on Saturday – Aldershot 0 York 3. York look decent…
