A Parade Of Yearlings. And a few of the older ones too. A glass or three. New horses and new dreams and new owners – a potent and happy mix…

And then to the Blue Riband Room at the racecourse. An excellent Sunday lunch of perfectly cooked Roast Lamb. Thankfully, nobody appeared to go thirsty or hungry. Darkness well and truly across The Downs before the last tables were cleared. A proper gathering and a proper party…

And now is the time for us to press on with breaking in the yearlings. An exciting bunch – well bought in conjunction with Anthony Bromley, and plenty of dreams and hopes and aspirations tied up in them….

The yearlings will be broken in over the next few weeks. And will then have a short break over Christmas and into the New Year before we press on through January and beyond…

As ever, the key with young horses is that progress and education is entirely on their terms. Press too hard with young horses and you can lose them. Listen to them and work with them…

Who knows, a couple may end up raging out of the starting stalls in late March or early April…

Others will tell us that they need time and the most important commodity in racing – patience…

We shall see. A seriously exciting bunch of young horses. New blood. Aligned with old friends to form our team for 2026 and beyond…
