To work day….
Apparently….
A butterfly bouncing around the inside of the car just now. Bouncing into my face as I headed past Guildford Cathedral. You know the one – the Cathedral from the utterly terrifying “The Exorcist…”
Hoping that my new friend has found a warm corner of the car for a week or three as he / she does not want to be coming out in this. More persistent rain of the horizontal type. Riders well wrapped up. Horses too. Go steady….
Wild and windy in Bahrain too…
“Is there a headwind….??”
“It’s an everywhere wind”. Sophie’s description. I know exactly what she means. A wind that swirls and rages around bends and up and down hills. In the “old” days before the dedicated hospitality areas in the Grandstand, picnics in the wind in the desert car park were the norm….
Sand in the Chablis. Grit in the egg sandwiches…
DESERT COP into battle with the “everywhere wind” later today. Callum Shepherd up for this Turf Series five furlong sprint. Drawn 1 – so no choices to be made on that front. Kendall Roy, a winner on day one when DC was 4th, drawn on the other side. As is Chandigah who came from nowhere to lead them all a very merry dance a fortnight ago. Phil Smith does not miss them in the Kingdom – up 10 to 107….
A Domestic Grade 1, and we are not well in at the weights. But these sprinters take it in turns, and we have a horse in good order…
Frustration at Chelmsford last night. MASSIMO BLUE travelling around like a dream, but not picking up close home. A minor issue to address, and his winning days are most certainly not over….
That rain…..??!!
Raging loud….
Wet, wet, wet – which is not a pop band allusion….
In an allusion of that type, Candida’s mate Harry Styles grabbing a headline or three…
Watermelon Sugar High – the name of H’s first horse with us. Perhaps….
