So my completely global and “gone viral” daughter’s Instagram and TikTok thingy is TAZZTEESOFF. And not Tazzy with a “y” as I wrote yesterday….
Dad…??!!
Anyway, my social media error has hardly impacted on the bigger picture as one of Tallulah’s reels now has over 2.6 million views. Which seems a lot. Slightly more than the number of winners we have trained down the years. Slightly more than the average crowd at Kempton. Or even QPR….
Go gal….!!
To London yesterday evening. “A Supper with George Baker” at The RAC Club in Pall Mall. Which was pretty much as described – we had supper and I was there…
A happy gathering. Great fun. The evening expertly handled and finessed by Colin Cameron. I must admit that I was a little sceptical about the “salon style” description of the event, and the fact that I was not going to be on my feet rolling out the same old dull anecdotes…
But Colin of course knew best. Not his first rodeo, and he is very adept at hosting with much wiser and more eminent guests than the RAC had to endure last night. A dinner party conversation as opposed to an after dinner speech…
And I sold 24 yearlings to the assembled Members that included my friends Peter Jensen and Terry Withers….
Or did I….??
Ascot today. TEX (Simon Walker) in the 18 runner Amateur Handicap that opens the card. MUST BELIEVE (Jack Dace) in the lucky last…
TEX a dual Ascot winner this season, and looking for a cool hat trick this afternoon. A horse who “bubbled under” for far too long, but has finally decided to get his act together. Climbing the handicap makes tasks tougher…
MUST BELIEVE in a two mile handicap. Was this “The Brown Jack Stakes” once upon a time. Cool horse. New to us this year, his best form has been on the All Weather. But no reason at all why he cannot run “big” on turf…
Bookending the card with two big runs would be fun…
Plum and draw. Why is a good draw a plum draw ?? Daryz, around whom the vibes are very strong, draws well in 5 for The Arc. Diamond Necklace drawn out in the Bois, and Ryan Moore jumping ship to Derby “non runner” Benevenuto Cellini. Kalpana and Maltese Cross middle and wide….
Remember that Derby “non runner” fiasco ?? That was a strange one. Maybe BC will win The Arc and show us how desperately “unlucky” he was at Epsom to lose a couple of lengths at the start…??!!
Aussie rabbit hole ?! Loading the stalls at Moruya, and in the paddock at Dooba. Two more new ones to me. This imminent Aussie racing tour might take many years…
SEA THE STARS. What a star….
